The traffic modelling will be revised at later stages of scheme development and so we are not providing more detailed breakdowns of traffic levels at present. For all options, the percentage reduction in HGV traffic on the existing A46 is expected to be greater than the percentage reductions seen for all traffic as a large proportion of HGV movements are travelling to/from the M5 to the south of Tewkesbury and Ashchurch. For the same reason, current forecasts show no marked difference in terms of the level of HGVs using the new route between Options 1, 2 & 3.
